Terms of Business
The terms on which SXB Global accepts instructions to recover a commercial debt.
Last updated: October 2026
These terms are published so that the case submission process can operate. They have not yet been settled by a qualified legal adviser. The engagement letter issued for your specific matter prevails over this page wherever the two differ.
1. Who you are contracting with
Your contract is with SXB Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 16679668, trading as SXB Global. Our registered address and contact details are set out in our Become a Partner Privacy Policy.
In these terms, “we” and “us” mean SXB Ltd; “you” means the business instructing us to recover a debt.
2. What we do
We assess commercial claims, contact debtors, negotiate payment, set and run a recovery strategy, and coordinate recovery across borders. Where proceedings become appropriate in the debtor’s jurisdiction, we coordinate the instruction of appropriately authorised local professionals; those services are provided under their own engagement and are charged separately.
We accept business-to-business claims only. We do not pursue debts owed by individuals acting as consumers.
3. Accepting instructions
An enquiry does not create a contract. We assess each matter and may decline it without giving reasons. A matter becomes an engagement only when you confirm acceptance of the engagement letter we issue for it, using the secure link we provide. The date, time and originating IP address of that confirmation are recorded and form part of the case file.
Each matter carries a reference number issued when your enquiry reaches us. That number stays with the matter throughout.
4. Your obligations
You confirm that the information and documents you give us are accurate and complete, that the debt is genuinely due, and that you are authorised to instruct us in respect of it. You will tell us promptly if the debtor pays you directly, if the debt is disputed, if insolvency proceedings begin, or if any fact we are relying on changes.
While we are instructed, you will not pursue the debtor for the same debt through another agent without telling us first.
5. Fees
Our fee for each matter is set out in the engagement letter for that matter. No fee is charged for assessing an enquiry. We will not change an agreed fee basis for a matter once the engagement has been accepted.
Any costs payable to third parties - local professionals, court fees, translation, service of documents - are notified to you before they are incurred and are charged in addition.
6. Local partners
Where a matter is referred to a local firm, that firm is an independent practice acting on its own professional authority and under its own regulation. We remain your point of contact and report to you on progress. We share with that firm only what it needs to pursue the matter.
7. Payments by the debtor
Where you give us the account details for payment, we direct the debtor to pay you directly. If you receive payment from the debtor at any time, including before our involvement is known to you, you will tell us within five business days so that the file can be brought up to date.
8. Confidentiality and data
Each of us will keep the other’s information confidential and use it only for the purposes of the engagement, except where disclosure is required by law or by a regulator.
SXB Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with a matter. How we handle it is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Duration and ending the engagement
An engagement runs until the matter is closed. Either of us may end it by written notice. Fees already earned, and third-party costs already incurred or committed, remain payable.
When a matter closes we tell you the outcome. A closed matter is not reopened; new instructions on the same debt are treated as a new matter.
10. Limitation of liability
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. We do not guarantee recovery of any debt, in whole or in part, nor any particular timescale.
We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, write to info@sxb.global quoting your reference number. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond with the outcome of our review.
12. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the engagement letter for a matter says otherwise.
